We are seeking a Traffic/Network Operations Supervisor for our client's media broadcasting operations in Mexico City.

Our client is an international news and media organization offering substantial opportunities for advancement and professional growth.  This position will report to the Senior Manager of Network/Broadcast Operations.


POSITION PURPOSE
To supervise all organizational traffic and network operations issues both internally and externally, specifically as it relates to delivery of the transmission logs and all broadcast materials and elements.  Additionally, the Traffic/Network Operations Supervisor serves as the main point of contact between our client's Operations, Program Scheduling, Promotions Scheduling, Program Operations/Versioning, Creative Services, International Operations, and post production/origination/uplink service providers in executing the delivery of the channel by trafficking all required logs and elements. Additionally this role closely collaborates with Program and Promotions Scheduling for ensuring that stunts, specials, live events, news, and ad sales-sponsored initiatives are trafficked and delivered according to plan.



POSITION SCOPE
The Traffic/Network Operations Supervisor must verify that all portions of the transmission log (programming, live news, promotions, and commercials) and all scheduled materials (programs, promotions, and lower thirds) have passed quality control, been closed captioned, and delivered to the origination facility in a timely manner.   This requires pre-planning and coordination across many groups to ensure creation, scheduling, and delivery of all required components to meet agreed upon deadlines.  The Traffic/Network Operations Supervisor must also manage and facilitate any last minute changes required to the transmission log or delivered materials with all necessary parties. 


 


PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY



  • Recommend and develop break formats for programs and live events that require a new/different clock format to accommodate both programming's (ratings driven) and ad sales' (revenue driven) needs

  • Review daily Con-sheets and news' break formats for consistency and make adjustments to breaks as necessary to accommodate our clocks each day

  • Validate and/or enter program information from the program run sheets/logs such as Episode Titles, Gabriel numbers, segment lengths, ratings, clock, and closed captioning data necessary for executing the transmission log

  • Enter into PDS and validate all "windows of opportunity" for each program, detailing where it is possible to place navigational elements, lower thirds, graphics, VOCs, etc. based on the program editor's assessment captured on the program run sheet

  • Execute and manage the tactical placement of network navigational elements on the log-TV parental ratings, closed captioning bug, network ID, text crawls, lower thirds, banners, etc.

  • Collaborate with other media channels in the US to manage any late transmission log adjustments to accommodate ad sales' needs (e.g. fulfilling placement of paid spots and placement of local ad sales time) and live news format changes

  • Create and disseminate weekly Missing lists from various programming and promotions reports and grids.  Distribute/communication priorities to all stakeholders to ensure all broadcast masters and promotional elements are processed and delivered properly and in a timely manner.

  • Generate reports from PDS and Gemini as requested to meet departmental needs and manage the receipt/delivery of all elements for broadcast on the channel

  • Monitor the quarterly closed captioning process, enter necessary data into PDS and the caption file archive, and generate quarterl
