   The candidate is responsible for the implementation of all policies, practices and operations for the Safety and Health, Environmental and Security functions within SSA Mexico and advises Top Management on Security Strategies. It is also responsible for encouraging and driving a pro-active HSE culture throughout the entire organization.

 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  Assists in the Management and development of the company's Health, Safety, Security and Environmental functions, implementing policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation.

  Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments in the area of Safety, Health, Environment, and Loss Prevention. Seeks out best practices within the industry and internationally to ensure continuous improvement within the organization.

  Represents the company with local government organizations related to safety, security and health, in order to ensure a mutual understanding of the Company's goals and requirements, and to work in a co-operative partnership with local resources.
  
  


• 
  
  Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.Prepares studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and hazards to health for use by company personnel and outside agencies.

  Leads the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization in hearings, lawsuits and insurance investigations. Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies. Maintains safety files and records.
  
  

 REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

• 
  
  A minimum of 5 years experience in a HSSE management function with a strong security background
  
  


• 
  
  A minimum of a first degree from a reputable university or Maritime Academy/Nautical School
  
  


• 
  
  Must have knowledge of ISPS code. Conduct security assessments of terminals, develop and implement security plans in compliance with the company's security plan.

  Professional qualifications in Security or a related field will be an added advantage
