Responsibilities
Provide proactive environmental, health & safety leadership for the (name of site/operation) operations of GE Security.
* Ensure compliance of plant operations with federal, state, and local environmental health and safety governmental regulatory agency requirements relating to EHS.
* Interact with employees at all levels of the organization to reduce accidents and injuries and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
* Utilize leadership skills to engage various plant teams and other plant personnel to increasing levels of EHS performance.
* Develop/refine EHS regulatory and non-regulatory programs, policies and procedures utilizing expertise in environmental, occupational health & safety management.
* Apply ergonomic principles to improve workstations & minimize injuries and take the lead in reducing workers compensation costs.
* Develop, implement and drive environment, health and safety initiatives through EHS committees and other business functions to increase levels of employee safety ownership and maintain regulatory compliance.
* Maintain documentation required to meet company, local, state, and/or federal standards.
* Plan and implement environment, health & safety regulatory training.
* Demonstrated ability to facilitate and achieve results in a team environment.
* Positive influencing skills in a team environment.
* Ability to prioritize and balance multiple ongoing tasks.
* Technical knowledge of environmental and safety regulations.
Qualifications
*BS Degree in Environmental Science, Health & Safety Management, Environmental
Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
* 3 years experience in Environmental, Health and Safety field. Experience must include some experience with Federal and State Environmental Health and Safety Government Regulatory Agency Requirements, Hazardous Waste Management, Air Emissions Management, Occupational Health and Safety Management, Chemical
Management, and Waste Water Treatment Management.
*Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations with regard to EHS; Understanding of ergonomic principles
Desirable Qualifications
* Master's degree, or equivalent, in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or Biology plus one year of experience is required.
